Mitch Daniels and a number of other Republicans are playing to a right wing fringe of the Republican party. Some of these governors with Republican behind their name are one step away from being a criminal. This article is being written in response to Mitch Daniels killing a 3 million grant to Planned Parenthood. This was done to appease a few people on the fringe. I wonder how many women took this as attack on them. Women, who vote.
I think America and women especially should wake up and smell the skunks in our government. They are so many. All attacking the working class people and women. I know some women think this is just about abortions. No, it is a direct attack on women who need help getting health care. I can tell you that when you find a lump in your breast and you are poor, terror takes over. I went through this and I can tell you if you don't have insurance or some other way of paying for even the mammogram you are out of luck. There are other charity organizations but they seem to be set up for migrant workers and you cannot get help through them. A few churches have help but with just minor things not with a costly thing like breast cancer.
These governors and United States Congress are condemning poor women to death. Without a fair hearing or even a crime they have decided that if it helps me get elected then a few poor women can die.
They are attacking other rights of women. They are trying to kill the law that women get paid what men get paid for the same type of work. They are trying to kill Affirmative action which allows women to be on a more equal playing field with white males. They are trying to kill Pell Grants which would stop women and minorities from going to a higher education school.
Republicans are trying to keep women and other people from voting. A lot of women, young and old, don't have driver's licenses. In New York city probably a lot of people don't have driver's license. Older women who have had to give up their rights to drive won't have driver's license. The Department of Motor Vehicles won't have the people to help all the people get IDs before the next election. Some states are saying you have to have your birth certificates to get registered to vote. It is not easy to get a birth certificate when someone is born at home. The older people will be slammed by this. My elderly aunts had to go back to the census to prove they were born to the parents. The Dr. had taken it on himself to name the twins something other than what they were officially named. How hard are mistakes like that going to make it to get registered to vote?
It took me about 3 times writing the state before I finally got my birth certificate. According to them, I didn't exist. To require birth certificates to be able to register to vote is not right. Maybe we should say you have to prove your ancestors came over on the May flower to be able to vote. That would eliminate about 99 percent of the people in United States. Since they are trying to eliminate votes that should work great. Or that your ancestors were here before 1776. Mine were. Were your ancestors?
